INFLUENCERS is a short documentary that explores what it means to be an influencer and how trends and creativity become contagious today in music and fashion. The film is a Polaroid snapshot of New York influential creatives (advertising, design, fashion and entertainment) who are shaping today’s pop culture and its directed by Paul Rojanathara and Davis Johnson. From 1979-1984 Bruce Kalberg photographed virtually every band and personality against the backdrop of the first rush of Punk Rock in Los Angeles and Hollywood. As publisher and chief creative force behind NO MAGAZINE (NO MAG) Bruce photographed both the music and art scene nightly in his studio in Echo Park creating a portrait of fashion and underground culture like no one else. Bruce Kalberg’s exhibition is now being exhibited online at Freshjive.com, check it.

Haroshi, Japanese wood sculptor, specializes in creating three-dimensional art pieces from used and broken skateboard decks. The fact of skate decks are already processed products, due to they’re shapes, signature models and factories, led Haroshi to be able to differentiate from thousands of used deck stocks in order to find which deck fits with which when stacked. After the decks are chosen and stacked, they are cut, shaven, and polished with his favorite tools. By coincidence, this creative style of his is similar to the way traditional wooden Japanese Great Buddhas are built. Find out more about this great sculptor by clicking here.

Pro skateboarder/artist Ed Templeton and artist Matt Leines have teamed up for an art exhibition entitled of Map Of The Inner War. Templeton presents over 250 new works including painting, sculpture, photography, and works on paper, while Leines plays with cut-out forms. The exhibition lasts until December 13 at the Roberts and Tilton gallery in Los Angeles.
